What is the sound of the engine by typing in an air-cooled VW Transporter?
There is a clapping noise of the engine cooling Air VW Transporter 1982 2L Carbis twins instead of fuel injection when it idols. What is the noise and this could be a problem.
If the noise goes away as you increase engine speed, the more likely is a valve lifter. This situation is common to happen on this type of engine if sitting too long if you drive the car for about 15 minutes and the noise still there, then you should check if a bad lifter, valves must be adjusted or there is something bent or worn on the valves. About the man told to return to solid lifters? I have not recommended.
