What is a good substitute for fresh fruit?

I like having fruit in my yogurt in the morning. Fresh berries are so expensive and are about out of season. I tried frozen, but they were bland and rubbery. Does anyone have a good suggestion for that?

Too bad frozen does not work for you. I got lucky with them.
